So lately we have been trying to reduce our expenses, one of the largest expenses that we have but cannot live without is food. Groceries in New Zealand cost, especially if you are eating healthy. Going to the supermarket and filling your cart up on fruit and veggies will seriously break the bank, which is a really big problem if you want to eat healthy. We have been researching and have found a way to by-pass the supermarket and head straight for the fresh produce, without breaking the bank. We found a way to get fresher and better quality produce at half of the price. (hint we are not growing our own, although that definitely would be the cheapest option). But it is the next best thing!
This is a product that is eco-friendly and promoting local business. Food Boxes we found the Fruit Guys, they provide fresh, local, seasonal fruit and vegetables delivered to your door. They cater to all needs, singles, families, couples.
This was all the food we got, we bought a weekly couples box.
– Bag of mushrooms, bag of potatoes, 1 eggplant, 3 tomatoes, salad, broccoli, 5 apples, apricots, nectarines, pears, bananas, corn, cucumber, spring onions, blueberries, cabbage, ginger, garlic and capsicum (or peppers)
If we had shopped in the supermarket, guaranteed for this haul we would have paid, over $70. Capsicum (or peppers) alone cost about 2.50 for just 1!!
This whole box cost us just just $34.00 NZD. We are so happy with this discovery and will be purchasing these regularly!
